Op donderdag 22 februari 2024 organiseert de Associatie Universiteit – Hogescholen Limburg (AUHL) in samenwerking met haar partnerinstellingen UHasselt en Hogeschool PXL de tweejaarlijkse onderwijs- en inspiratiedag. In de editie van 2024 willen we de docenten van UHasselt en Hogeschool PXL inspireren en ondersteunen rond het thema ‘multi-en interdisciplinair onderwijs'. [English below]

Complexe maatschappelijke vraagstukken, ook wel wicked problems genoemd,  hebben vaak geen eenduidige oplossing en kunnen niet opgelost worden met een louter discipline-gedreven benadering. Door multi- en interdisciplinair onderwijs een plaats te geven binnen het hoger onderwijs leren we studenten hoe ze om kunnen gaan met deze uitdagingen. De onderwijs- en inspiratiedag wil docenten inspireren om ruimer na te denken over de plaats van multi- en interdisciplinair onderwijs in hun opleidingsonderdeel en hun opleiding. Graag zetten we ook in op het connecteren van disciplines onderling.

On Thursday 22 February 2024, the Associatie Universiteit - Hogescholen Limburg (AUHL), in cooperation with its partner institutions Hasselt University and Hogeschool PXL, will organise an education and inspiration day. In the 2024 edition, we want to inspire and support lecturers at Hasselt University and Hogeschool PXL on the theme of 'multi- and interdisciplinary education'.

Complex social issues, also known as wicked problems, often don’t have a single solution and cannot be solved with a purely discipline-driven approach. By implementing multi- and interdisciplinary education within higher education, we teach students how to deal with these challenges. The education and inspiration day aims to inspire lecturers to think more broadly about the place of multi- and interdisciplinary education in their courses and their education. We would also like to focus on connecting disciplines with each other.
